I have been studying internet marketing for a couple of years, but for the last few months I have been at it intensely. I sold my former blogs and that gave me the time to piddle a bit, if learning affiliate marketing could be called piddling!
Anyway, I have created this blog with the sole intent of trying out different tactis I am learning, mostly from Blackhat forums. Hey, if you have a bad opinion of blackhat, you really need to get to know it better. It’s not nearly as evil as you might think. In fact, it is mostly just smart thinking and good business sense. Most of it. There are some blackhat tactics that are unethical, sure, but there are also some whitehat tactics I would call just as unethical. This is a debate for another time. Let’s get back to the subject. I found the tactic I am using now at Wicked Fire.
Come along with me as I follow this first step by step guide for making money with PPC, (pay per click). I am typing this as I follow the instructions, so I don’t know either how well it will work out. We will find out together.
The first step is to create a website or blog that is dedicated to the product I have chosen to promote. Instead of having to create a website, I am going to find a free one provided by Gen Bucks. I signed up as an affiliate with GenBucks after being swayed by several features: 1. They pay weekly, and even daily if you have enough volume of sales 2. They have tons of marketing tools and free websites, giving you everything you need to be successful. 3. They pay high commissions and referral commissions, have some out of this world products, like pills that are natural herbs but make you feel like you would if you were on coke. (Don’t do that anymore, but it IS a killer feeling) and their affiliates are doing big business selling products like these.
I am going to promote the coke pill. Here is the website. It comes complete with my affiliate link, so instantly I am ready to rock and roll. The next step in my plan to make money is to buy some pay per click advertising. Lucky me, though, I don’t have to buy this first batch, I have been collecting links for free Adwords and MSN advertising for first time users. This looks like a great time to use it.
For those of you who don’t have this luxury, deposit money, the instructions suggest $100 each, into your Adwords and MSN Center advertising accounts. (You can take some time to research and shop around and find free advertising too if you can’t afford to spend any money.) Wicked Fire even has some, so head over there and check out their free coupons and promo codes. Or hell, what am I thinking? I just went into my favorites to look for that link I had saved for free advertising. Why can’t I just give it to you? Duh. Here it is. There is free advertising in that DP thread for Google, Yahoo, Alta Vista, and a couple of other search engines I can’t remember.
Next is keyword research. (This is where I will give the floor over to Jon, the administrator at Wicked Fire. There is still a lot of work to be done before we start making money and he has laid it all out very well. Why repeat it?
